“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” - Marianne Williamson

Whenever you have some journey you’re going to have to change. You’re going to have to learn how to change the way you view yourself. You’re going to have to change your behavior. You’re going to have to change your discipline. You’re going to have to change your focus. You’re going to have to transform into something you’re not. And then you’re going to have to kill that thing and then transform into some other thing. When a caterpillar turns into a butterfly the caterpillar is gone now. It had to transform itself and that probably wasn’t pleasant. So when you take the journey you’re choosing to experience a degree of pain. You’re choosing to have that pain harden you.

Apr. 12, 1980 - Terry Fox embarked on his Marathon of Hope

The Trek Across Canada began on April 12, 1980, when Terry Fox dipped his right leg in the Atlantic Ocean near St. John’s, Newfoundland, and filled two large bottles with ocean water. He intended to keep one as a souvenir and pour the other into the Pacific Ocean upon completing his journey at Victoria, British Columbia. Fox was supported on his run by Doug Alward, who drove the van and cooked meals.

Every single day when you wake up you’ve got two options. You can look at the clock and hit the snooze and go back to bed and dream about what you want to have and dream about what you want to be. Or you can look at that snooze button, kick that clock, get up and go pursue your dreams.

"To simply wake up every morning a better person than when I went to bed." - Sidney Poitier

Not only is it possible for you to have your dream but it’s necessary. It’s necessary that you have it. That you work on it. That you develop yourself. That you go for what is yours in the universe. You decide I’m not going to settle for this. This is not going to be it for my life. I deserve more than this. That will start making you do some stuff. A lot of people go to work everyday miserable and all they do is just talk about how miserable they are but they don’t do anything about it. - Les Brown

'You push it a little bit further and say “Let's see what happens.” Normally when you say let's see what happens, something good would happen. That's when I associated, when you felt the worst, I always associated that good things were on the horizon. By and large they happen that way.’
